Golf Day Raises £3,600 For Local Charities A charity golf day in aid of two good causes, National Talking Newspapers and Magazines and St Wilfrid's Hospice, has raised a fantastic £3,600. The event, organised by Newman Business Solutions Ltd - a local family-run company in Crowborough specialising in office technology – took place in May at Willingdon Golf Club, Eastbourne, East Sussex. The money that has been raised will be shared equally between the two charities. "This was our inaugural Charity Golf Classic and we are delighted to have raised as much as we have for two very worthwhile causes. We had a good turnout and everyone enjoyed a great day of golf. We'd like to thank who supported in the event and we are planning to host the golf day again next year when we hope to raise even more!" said Andrew Deadman, Managing Director Account Manager, Newman Business Solutions Ltd. National Talking Newspapers and Magazines is a national charity, based in Heathfield, providing more than 200 newspapers and magazines for blind, visually impaired and print disabled people in variety of accessible formats. This provides a lifeline for 6,500 people by offering the same access to newspapers and magazines enjoyed by sighted people. Communications Manager for National Talking Newspapers and Magazines, Cheryl Johnson, added: "We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Newman's and all those who took part. We rely very much on donations and people's generosity to keep our unique service going, a service which is so often described as a 'lifeline' by our listeners."
