Photo Competition Winners Are Announced Amateur photographers from across the country have been getting snap happy to help raise funds for National Talking Newspapers & Magazines (NTN & M), a national charity which provides blind and print disabled people with newspapers and magazines in a variety of accessible formats. The winning photographs will feature in the charity’s 2010 calendar, which will be sold to raise funds. More than 80 entries based on the theme of countryside and wildlife were received and the judges, Paul Adams, Secretary of the Disabled Photographers Society, Jim Holden, freelance photographer and former deputy picture editor of the Argus newspaper, and Trevor Wolford, Sales Director from Judges Postcards Ltd, the company which will be printing the calendar, had a tough time choosing the 13 winning photographs The winners are: Simon Courcha – Front Cover – Ashdown Forest, East Sussex Simon Courcha – January – Crowborough Common, East Sussex Patricia Warren – February – Parkwood ,East Sussex Susan Kernan – March – Petworth Park, West Sussex Justin Akehurst – April – Longleat, Lake Wiltshire Thelma Hamilton – May – Bishopstone, East Sussex Jane Potter – June – ‘Comma Butterfly’ Paul Winterford – July – Ownby by Spital, Lincolnshire Jane Potter – August – Great Western Canal Tiverton, Devon Philip Bird – September – Happisburgh Lighthouse , East Anglia Charlie Watson – October – Hangingshaw, Scottish Borders Paul McLaughlin – November – Red Squirrel John Cameron – December – Ben Nevis Lochaber Scotland "All the photos that have been chosen are worthy winners and we were delighted with the very high standard of entries.
