List of publications available on audio CD
National Talking Newspapers and Magazines subscribers can now receive many publicatins on audio CD. Audio CD subscriptions are handled slightly differently from publications delivered on tape. The following information explains everything you need to know about the audio CD service.
Audio CD titles provide easier navigation. Articles within a publication are recorded as tracks, enabling listeners to skip from item to item at the touch of a button.
Audio CDs are non-returnable - they are your to keep! unlike cassette tapes which we need returned for reuse, you are free to keep your audio CD publications.
Audio CD offers excellent playback sound quality.
Each publication taken on audio CD is priced individually according to the frequency of the publication and the number of CDs on which the publication is delivered. For example, the Daily Mail Digest, a weekly publication, costs £21 per year on audio CD, whereas Woman & Home, a monthly title, costs £11 per year.
For more pricing information, take a look at our subscription rates.
Unlike the tape editions, audio CDs, do not have to be returned - they are yours to keep. You do not need to return the CDs or any of the packaging. Audio CDs are sent free of charge under the 'Articles For the Blind Concession'.
Audio CD titles will play on any standard domestic CD player. They can also be played using certain RNIB talking book machines as well as DVD players and PC CD drives.
In almost all editions, the content that's delivered on the CD edition will be the same as the tape edition. The running time of an audio tape is slightly longer than an audio CD, so we've taken steps to present the material in a way that minimizes the likelihood of having to reduce the amount of content. However, on rare occasions a small amount of content may have to be excluded.
If at any time during your subscription you'd like to take one or more of your titles on audio CD then just contact Customer Services and they can arrange to have your subscription updated. They can also work out the exact cost of updating your subscription.
You can take whatever mix of titles you wish in any format - providing the title is available in that format.
We plan to make a significant number of titles available on audio CD. We'll be adding titles in response to demand, so if you'd like to take a particular title on audio CD, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Most of our publications are now available on CD. Go to the audio tape list page, that indications which publications are available on Audio CD. These are marked [CD] . Please contact Customer Service for more details. Telephone: 01435 866102
